Our Story
There are some who believe that once the storm has passed and the apologies have been spoken into the wind, the story is finished. But those of us in the forced‑adoption community know in our very marrow that a wound does not heal simply because someone finally admitted it was there.
We are the ones who refuse to let the dust settle on our lives. We are the survivors who looked at the embers of our own history and found there was still a fight to be won. We are not here because we seek the limelight; we are here because the truth requires witnesses.
We never asked for a title. We never craved a banner to march under. In a kinder world, we wouldn’t need to exist at all. We would be daughters and sons, mothers and fathers, living in the quiet grace of our own belongings.
But when governments and institutions try to wait you out — when they hope your silence will become your legacy — you must stand. You must give your pain a name so it can no longer be ignored. And so we call ourselves the Forced Adoption Post‑Apology Action Alliance. It is a long name, yes, but justice is a long road, and we intend to walk every inch of it.
What began as a flicker of resolve has grown into a national hearth. We are volunteer‑run and survivor‑led, because no one understands this landscape better than those who have lived it.
We take no coin from the hands that moved against us. We seek no favour from the halls of power. Our agenda is absolute: truth. Accountability. Justice.
We do not move with haste, but with intention. We take the time to understand the shadows so that we might bring them into the light.
Let no one mistake our resolve for malice. We are not “anti” any person or any office; we are simply, and immovably, anti‑discrimination. We do not seek to tear down the house, but we will no longer permit the foundation to be built upon our silence.
When we join hands, our strength becomes impossible to ignore.
Let’s Work Together
We are a growing network — survivors, families, supporters, and allies. We are here. We are awake. And we will not be waited out.
